For many years, Kondo has been
designing and manufacturing
speakers. In the past, he made to
customer order, huge horn speakers
often built with amplifiers to match and
to be "tuned" to the room. The difficulty
with this for most people is that the cost is
just too great and the manufacturing time too
long, not to mention the speakers being physically too big!

Based on his many years of experience, Kondo has designed the "Ruthy series". There are five speakers in the series, all of which are domestically acceptable in size and appearance.

28 cm W x 54 cm H x 24 cm D

  2. Ruthy 2

  4. Ruthy 4

5. Ruthy-5 II

45cm W x 82.5 cm H x 40 cm D
Twin drive system

Super Linear sound with the define sound of "calm and "agricultural" in finish and texture.
The 20SP drive unit has gained a high reputation overseas, the improvement has thorough given to this driver.

The hihglights of these improvements include enhancement of vibration characteristics of the whole diaphragm and vibration characteristics within the diaphram material.
Cone speakers have sometimes been characterised as "boneless sounding", but such disadvantaes were elliminated by these improvemnts, and more over, this cone type achieves an obedient sound that cannot be gained from horn type units.

These speakers have all the drive units, crossovers, and other electrical parts, manufactured in Japan, by Audio Note and the cabinets of the 3, 4 and 5 Ruthy speakers are made by a master carpenter in the USA. Ruhty 1 and 2 have the cabinets made in Japan.

For the Ruthy 3, 4 and 5, the cabinets have been designed to have the widest sound stage possible and do not require the listener to sit between the speakers with the sound "beamed", this "beaming" (common in most speaker designs) is anathema to the Kondo philosophy! The wings or "lens" on the 3, 4 and 5 cabinets are an important design development enhancing the Kondo sound philosophy.

The speakers can be made in any finish, and can be built to suit a client's taste and listening room. They are unique and designed to last a life time.
